With the incoming avalanche of hearing requests, what is to prevent ODAR from recalling retired employees to work late afternoons and into the evenings, say 4 hours per day, with the new authority to not offset their retirements. They could use existing computers and workspaces. This could include night court hearings. When industrial demand exceeds capacity they generally go to 2 or 3 shifts before they build more plants.

Excellant idea. It's apparent,a private person,i presume, has the proper solution to the problem. But should extend to all backlogged areas.

I'm sure most retirees could do their old jobs in their sleep, so to speak. But would they want to? Maybe.
What makes it interesting is the possibility of doing the work from just about anywhere, thanks to the E-Files. For example, if a retired writer could access the files from a remote location, why couldn't that person crank out hearing decisions from home?
In any event, people usually retiree for good reason. A part time job, maybe. But to go back to full time nonsense? The pay would have to very very good.
